In addition to roof repairs, restoration and repair work to decorative urns and ornate cornicing was also undertaken. Most of the statues on the roofline at Wentworth Woodhouse were found to be in a reasonable state of repair.
However, one, the ‘Lady and Baby’ statue had suffered particularly badly as a result of previous historical repairs, and this had to be addressed as part of the emergency works.
